Famed for their projects which include CHIJMES and Mövenpick Hotel, Sentosa, Multiply Architects embark on creating Singapore’s first Chinese Arts and Culture-themed NLB Library, in a collaborated effort with Gold Plus Construction. Library@Chinatown serves as a contemporary interpretation of a classic Chinese setting, thoughtfully adapted to the needs of a modern library. Located in the heart of Singapore's Chinatown district, the library is designed to reflect the rich cultural heritage of the area while offering a contemporary space for learning and community engagement, the library seamlessly blends traditional and modern design elements. It features a range of facilities, including dedicated areas for reading, study, and digital media, as well as a variety of programs and events that cater to the diverse needs of the local community. The library's design incorporates elements inspired by Chinatown's history, creating a unique and welcoming environment for both residents and visitors. With its thoughtful design, library@Chinatown serves as a hub for knowledge, culture, and connection.
